- Document Description
- The project involves installation of a secondary water source for the CSD that will provide adequate water for the 37 residences within the community. The new water system would then become the primary system allowing the existing deteriorating well to be used as a secondary/backup system only. The well is being installed in compliance with the Waterworks Standards for alternate source or storage title 22, section 64554(a)(2). The construction includes the drilling of a new well with an air rotary percussion drill to advance a 12-3/4" inch steel casing to a depth of 250-ft below ground surface. The proposed pump is a 50 horsepower 3-phase variable speed submersible pump that will produce 650 gallons per minute at 254 feet of total dynamic head. It is proposed to set the pump at 160-ft below ground surface in the well on a 6-in tapered pipe.
