Document Description
The proposed project would allow for the expansion of the SCSD water system involving two components. The first component would occur within the SCSD's current boundaries. The second component would require expansion of the District's sphere of influence and annexation of the community of Monson into the SCSD to provide water service to the community of Monson. The first component would include the following water system improvements within the SCSD: Construction of a new water well on property generally located south of Ave. 416, east of Road 108 and south of Boone Street on APN 021-280-037. The parcel currently encompasses approx. 6.93 acres. The parcel will be subdivided to create a parcel encompassing approx. 10,000 sq. ft. (100 ft long by 100 ft wide for construction of the water well. The 10,000 sq. ft. well site would accommodate a hydropneumatic tank, equipment, a storm drainage basin, and a vehicle access driveway. The vehicle access driveway would provide a buffer between the well and the surrounding adjacent rural residential development. This proposed project anticipates that water treatment would not be necessary for the new well; Construction of a new approx. 3-linear mile water pipeline system within the SCSD's existing boundaries; and Installation of radio-read water meters with meter boxes and an Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system on all new and existing service connections within the SCSD. The second component would include the following water system improvements within the Community of Monson: SCSD is currently processing an annexation to expand their Sphere of Influence and District Boundary to include the Community of Monson; Construction of 12-inch diameter water pipeline for a distance of approx. 3-linear miles, with a 100 feet wide construction disturbance to serve the community of monson. The pipeline would be constructed from SCSD's southern boundary south along Road 104, then east and west along Ave. 388, and southwest along Simpson Dairy Road; and Installation of radio-read water meter boxes and an AMR system on approx. 45 new water service connection within the community of Monson.
