Document Description
Proposed new booster pump station to replace old existing booster pump station. Demolish existing concrete pump pedestal and construct new concrete pad. existing RTU panel & AC transfer switch to be removed & installed in new booster pump station. New booster station will be approx. 26, x42'x12' to be enclosed in a masonry block building with wood roof and metal roofing panels. Potable water from the Clinton East & West Reservoirs will flow into a 24-inch diameter common header influent steel pipe that will tie into the existing distribution system. Potable water will flow to the new pump station and evenly distribute between five 12-inch suction-side steel pipes. Water will flow into all five operating vertical turbine pumps and be pumped out into five 10-inch discharge-side steel pipes at a time at peak demand. All six discharge pipes will tie back into one 24-inch diameter pipe and the flow will be measured via a 16-inch diameter magnetic flow meter installed in suction side of the pump station. The finished water will flow into the new 24-inch pipeline. A 16-inch diameter bypass pipe will recirculate finished water back to the suction header if the system pressure experiences higher than anticipated pressure due to surge in the system using high pressure surge anticipator valve.
