Document Description
The proposed project would improve the energy efficiency of the existing State owned office building which was originally constructed in 1922, and renovated in 1998. The project includes static pressure reset on AHU Fans, reset supply air temperatures on chilled and heating hot water, adjusting ventilation, installing lighting occupancy sensors, retrofitting incandescent and fluorescent lamps with LED lamps (project will not replace lighting fixtures), installing hot water and steam pipe insulation, optimizing cooling tower operations, retro-commissioning hot water pumps, retro-commissioning economizer, implementing demand response load shifting, installing new building energy management system.

George State Office Complex is within and a contributor to the National Historic Landmark San Francisco Civic Center Historic District. However, the project will have a negligible or no change to the visual appearance of the building and none of the energy upgrades proposed will impact any character defining features of the historic resource. Therefore, the proposed project will not result in an adverse change to a historic resource.
