Document Description
The purpose of this project is to fund development of wind turbine upgrades to enable remote communication and dispatch of aged turbines dynamically in response to real time grid, market price, and weather conditions to address mutual concerns of wind plant owners and grid operators and enable extended economic useful life of the turbines. The project will install demonstration components in three or more aged turbines installed at the demonstration site. The basic components are a real time communication device, a microprocessor, a small battery pack and a small solar panel to provide electric power.
