Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to install flashing beacons with Type 15-FBS standard with R1-1, W4-4P, W13-1P and W2-1 signs on State Route 269 at Avenal Cutoff Road and Interstate 5 North of Route 269 in Fresno County. This work includes removing existing wood post, salvaging the existing signs, pouring new foundations, and erecting Type 30 (depth 7 feet foundation) and 15-FBS (6.5 feet foundation) poles for the light and flashing beacons. The proposed project will also be trenching (approximately depth of 2.5 feet) along State Route 269 and boring from Route 269 and Avenal Cut Off road to supply power to the flashing beacons and lighting as well as boring crossing the Intestate 5 off ramp towards on the west side for conduit. All work is to occur within the existing Caltrans ROW. No additional right of way is required.

This project is exempt because it falls under section 15301, existing facilities class 1 (c), involves no expansion of existing use. The proposed project will be install flashing beacons, removing existing wood post, salvaging the existing signs, pouring new foundations. All construction activities will be within our State Right of Way. No additional right of way is required. The project will not have any impact on the environment.
