Document Description
At the request of the Alameda county Environmental Health Department, DFD staff will perform maintenance activities at the Del Valle Sanatorium disposal site located immediately north of Del Valle Pumping Plant. A weed eater and brush hog will be used to remove vegetation within the fence line to expose surface debris and 5 feet outside of the fence line to provide a fire break. Straw wattles will be placed within the exterior fence line. Debris found on the ground surface following vegetation removal will be removed by hand and discarded at an appropriate disposal facility. Dead fallen tree limits will be removed from inside and on top of the fence line, and the barbed wire boundary fence will be re-strung where it has been damaged. In addition, a portion of an old fence line, exterior to the disposal site boundary, along the northwest perimeter of the site will be removed using hand tools.
