Document Description
The project will reduce the frequency and duration of maintenance worker exposure along the State Route 99 corridor in the City of Tulare. Minor concrete matching existing treatments will be installed at narrow areas beyond the gore and areas without planting at the base of these slopes adjacent to shoulders, irrigation sprinklers, valves, controllers, backflows, and lines will be relocated away from the edge of shoulder to reduce maintenance near the travel way. Additional gates along the right of way fence will be installed to provide additional access from adjacent surface streets with safe parking opportunities. Additional gravel maintenance access roads will be located along the Right of Way fence at the top of slopes to provide vehicular maintenance access to areas which are only accessed form the edge of shoulder. All permanent improvements will be done inside the existing State right of way.
