Reasons for Exemption
This project is exempt under 15301, for existing facilities, b/c the project proposes to add two compressors, an additional fuel pump, and a canopy to an existing compressed natural gas station. There are no significant impacts on the environmental and the project is exempt under 15301.
The project is exempt under 15303 for new construction or conversion of existing small structures. The current station consists of 2 75 standard cubic foot/minute compressors, 1 gas dryer, 20 time fill hoses, 2 fast fill hoses, and 9 12,000 scf ASME storage vessels. The addition of two compressors, a fuel pump, and a canopy converts the existing small structure by about a 15' extension of an island with an added dispenser. The proposed canopy would cover this island and would be about 24'x35' and the proposed compressors and valve panel would cover a space of less than 10'x30'. There are no significant impacts on the environmental and the project is exempt under 15303.
This project is exempt under 15304, for minor alterations to land, as it will involve some minor trenching on ground that is already part of the existing station. There are no significant impacts on the environment and the project is exempt under 15304.
