Document Description
The Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) owns and operates the double circuit Orangevale-Whiterock and Folsom-Orangevale 230 kilovolt (kV) transmission lines that extend east/west along the northern boundary of Folsom Prison and provides electricity from the Upper American River Project (UARP) hydropower facilities. These lines provide critical base load and peaking power to the SMUD service area and a portion of Placer County. SMUD is proposing to replace four concrete transmission poles and replace the crossarms on eight additional transmission poles all of which are located south of Folsom Dam, Folson, California.
