Reasons for Exemption
The project consists of acquisition of land for fish and wildlife conservation purposes. The lands will beocme part of the Arcata Community Forest and a new Humboldt State University Forest and will be managed as a sustainable forest that includes protection for riparian and other sensitive areas and associated wildlife. The acquisition will promote public access to the Jacoby Creek Forest and maintain lands in their natural state.
