Document Description
The proposed project will restore a swath of land that was degraded during a recent resurfacing project of Ranger Station Rd. An approx 300 meter x 4 meter road cut was graded to provide an access route for visitors and employees during construction. Historically, this area has been used as an alternative, non-maintained route for small OHVs, such as motorbikes and quads, as well as a viewing/rest area on the outside of the training track. The restoration effort will seek to restore soil depth, contour, and visual look of the land, but will also seek to reduce soil compaction and retain the general use as a secondary access trail for smaller OHVs. Rehabilitation of this area will occur in 3 stages and will incorporate a few different best management techniques, including: soil decompaction, restoring the natural contour of land, revegetation, vertical mulching and dust suppression. The secondary trail is anticipated to be 2.5 meter wide x 300 meter long once complete, and restoration work will occur on the sides of the trail (300 meter x 1.5 meter wide total).
