Document Description
The purpose of this project is to perform a comprehensive assessment of small and micro-sale combined heat and power technical and market potential in California. The assessment will focus on residential, commercial, and light industrial applications which have a peak electrical demand less than 5 megawatts. The project will also identify barriers to the adoption of small and micro-sale CHP systems and discuss potential solutions to these barriers.

Reasons for Exemption
The primary work for this project involves utilizing database information for computational modeling. The databases to be utilized are pre-existing and will not require additional data collection. An assessment of existing combined heat and power technologies and their characteristics will also be performed, however this will not require any field or laboratory work. For these reasons, the project will not have a significant effect on the environment and falls under the categorical exemption listed in 14 C.C.R § 15306.
