Document Description
The Recipient will develop a highly usable, bankable, and cost-effective micro-scale combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) system integrated with and powered by a biomass gasification waste-to-energy system, the Power Pallet. The Power Pallet CCHP system will be able to integrate its electrical, heating, and cooling outputs with light industrial and commercial building applications, avoiding a substantial amount of natural gas and electricity usage. The objective of the pilot project is to demonstrate a replicable, scalable model for use in the commercial and light industrial sectors, which are highly appropriate for, but underserved by combined heat and power (CHP) and CCHP technology.

Reasons for Exemption
This project involves installing a micro-scale combined cooling, hearing and power system integrated with and powered by a biomass gasification waste-to-energy system in an existing commercial facility. This will be a minor alteration of the facility which involves negligible expansion of use beyond that existing currently.
