Document Description
The proposed project consists of the installation and operation of up to three individual over the canal hydro generation sites. Each site will consist of a new powerhouse (1,100 sf each), Point of interconnection, Gen-tie and two of the sites will have co-located solar generation sited adjacent to the hydro general facility and within Yolo's water district boundaries. Ingress/egress to each of the sites will make use of existing irrigation district access roads.
The sites are located at 1) Chapman Reservoir with 100,000 sf of solar panels, 2) Alder Drop, with 35,000 sf of solar and 3) the West Adams Canal 182 with no co-located solar. The location of all hydropower facilities would be on YCFCWCD land or easements and use existing infrastructure. Solar panels would be ground mounted on District owned lands. The proposed project does not require permenent employees for operation or maintenance. Project developer is Natel Energy of Alameda, CA and partial funding is provided by a California Energy Commission grant.
