Document Description
DTSC has approved a Removal Action Workplan (RAW) that authorizes activities to be conducted to remediate mine waste at the 15-acre Grove Subdivision site. Soil on the site is contaminated with Arsenic and Lead. Preparation and approval of the RAW by DTSC is pursuant to Chapter 6.8 of the CA Health and Safety Code. Activities to be conducted pursuant to the approved RAW include: 1) excavation and on-site disposal of approx. 1,700 cubic yards of mine waste (soil and rock); 2) on-site placement at the New Shaft location 3) burial of lead mine waste at a depth greater than 10 feet below ground surface (bgs); 4) dust control; 5) soil verification sampling; 6) placement of a 12" thick soil cap over mine waste; and 7) installation of drainage and erosion controls.
