The proposed project qualifies as Exempt under the following class of exemption Section 15301, Class 1 under CEQA Guidelines Article 19, "Categorical Exemption". Class 1 categorically exempts the repair, maintenance, or minor alteration of existing public facilities involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. Section 15301 of the CEQA guidelines states that the types of existing facilities include, but are not limited to, existing highways and streets, sidewalks, gutters, bicycle and pedestrian trails and similar facilities.
