Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
S:15301 C:1
Reasons for Exemption
As described in the Section 15301 of the CEQA guidelines, the proposed project is classified as a Class 1 Categorical Exemption, which allows for minor alterations of existing structures, including small additions, maintenance, and installation of mechanical equipment. Because it is for an existing bus fleet, the project's conversion of a parking lot to a bus yard would not expand use or the physical footprint of the campus. In accordance with Section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines, there are no cumulative impacts, expected significant effects on environmental resources, hazardous waste or historic sites, scenic highways, or other limiting factors or unusual circumstances that would make the exemption inapplicable based on the project records.
