Document Description
Repair a 72" culvert in Hinkle Creek located under a section of a paved trail/service road at Negro Bar within Folsom Lake State Recreation Area to provide improved recreational opportunities to park visitors. Work will:
Install a 2-ft tall temporary cofferdam in front of the culvert inlet and pump the resultant water to the downstream section of creek to dewater the work area. Saw cut and remove asphalt pavement and road base above the culvert. Excavate 400 cy of slumped soil and other native material from the lower half of the culvert. Remove damaged segment of culvert and detached segment located downstream in channel. Re-grade and stabilize the creek bed and banks with 500 cy of riprap. Install a 63-in x 72-ft long high density polyethylene culvert pipe liner into existing undamaged steel culvert. Use 2-in PVC pipe to pump concrete grout into voids between steel culvert and pipe liner. Fill and compact area above the culvert with 350 cy of re-used native soil and 200 cy of imported soil, to reestablish grade with trail/road. Install asphalt pavement over the section of saw cut paved trail.
