Document Description
The Project consists of a 3-year pilot program to provide approximately 6 miles of priority transit service along portions of interstate 805 and State Route 94. Transit vehicles are proposed to use existing freeway shoulders during peak hours under certain operating conditions to allow transit buses to bypass freeway congestion.

Buses would utilize existing paved shoulders along the freeway and improvements would occur within the existing freeway right of way. No expansion of use would occur. The number of buses traveling within the freeway corridors would not increase. Buses that currently operate within the general purpose lanes along the freeway corridor during peak hours would divert to the existing freeway shoulders.
