Document Description
The District is seeking assistance to complete a maintenance project to repair and replace aging equipment throughout the distribution system to reliably provide potable water and adequate fire protection to the District's service area. The Distribution System Improvement project will remove and replace existing water line on little borax lake road with 1,700 feet of 6 inch pipe, remove and replace 59 existing 4 inch fire hydrants with 6 inch fire hydrants, blast and recoat pressure zones 1 and 2 storage tanks interior and exterior shell using containment, repair miscellaneous mechanical and electrical components at Zones 1 and 2 tank sites.

The project would replace approximately 59 fire hydrants and 1,700 feet of mainline currently in service to meet local fire requirements. The replacement of existing fire hydrants and mainline are exempt per Section 15302: replacement of existing utility systems and/or facilities involving negligible or no expansion of capacity.
