Document Description
The proposed project involves the expansion of the existing upper-level wood deck, located on the southwestern portion of the San Diego Yacht Club leasehold in the City of San Diego. The deck, as currently, configured, has an upper-level wood deck and a lower level concrete deck. The proposed project would expand the area of the wood deck to over the area of concrete deck. The area of the existing concrete deck is 2,154 square feet and the area proposed wood deck expansion is 2154sf. The expansion would take place entirely over the existing concrete deck; therefore, there would be no expansion in total area of deck space, and no addition of over water coverage. Construction of the proposed project is anticipated to commence in January 2017 and take approximately three months to complete. The applicant is responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regulating construction demolition debris, hazards and hazardous materials, noise and storm water.

Reasons for Exemption
The project is determined to be Categorically Exempt pursuant to CEQA Section 15301 (e)(1) Section 3.a of the District's Guidelines for Compliance with CEQA because it is the expansion of the existing wood deck at SDYC that would involve a negligible expansion of use beyond that previously existing and would have no permanent effects on the environment.
