Land acquisition of approx. 630 acres for conservation of open space continuous to Bureau of Land Management land and the Joshua Tree National Park in the Covington Flats area. Areas of biodiversity contain Joshua Tree Woodlands, desert tortoise habitat, desert wash and mountainous terrain.
Project consists of transfers of ownership of interest in land in order to preserve open space, habitat, or historical resources. No change in land use and no significant adverse impacts to natural resources will occur as a result of the project.
