Document Description
Eastern Municipal Water District (District) proposes to implement an Automated Meter Infrastructure (AMI) Replacement Project (Project). The District has approximately 148,400 water meters that are read on a monthly basis, and many of these meters have been converted to AMI technology over the past several years. The overall goal of the proposed project is to deploy AMI technology to all customer-based water meters in the District's service area. Currently, the District proposes to replace approximately 88,400 existing manual meters by installing new AMI meters and transmitters. AMI Technology would provide information to District staff that would be used to analye individual customer water use; identify potential water leaks, irrigation concerns, and water use efficiency issues, resulting in both water and energy savings; and improve customer support.
