Document Description
The project site is at 450 O'Farrell St, 474 O'Farrell St, and 532 Jones St, San Francisco, CA. The block is bounded by Geary St to the north, O'Farrell St to the south, Taylor St to the east and Jones St to the west, with Shannon St bisecting the block from O'Farrell St to Geary St. The project site, which is within San Francisco's Downtown/Civic Center neighborhood, has an area of 22,106 sf and includes three rectangular parcels (Assessor's block/lot 0317/007, 0317/009, and 0317/011) that would be merged to form a single lot. The project site is currently occupied by the three-story, 26,904 sf Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, including a 1,400 sf parking lot with four parking spaces at 450 O'Farrell St; a one-story, 4,415 sf vacant retail building at 474 O'Farrell St; and a one-story, 1,012 sf restaurant and residential building with five units at 532 Jones St. The proposed project would involve demolition of the existing Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist building except for the front facade along O'Farrell St and a 16-ft return on Shannon St. The vacant retail building along O'Farrell St, and the restaurant building along Jones St would also be demolished.
