Document Description
The plan includes several vegetation management actions on Mount Sutro to be conducted in three phases over the next 20 years. The actions would be undertaken to 1. Protect the safety of the Reserve users and adjacent campus and residential properties; 2. Improve and enhance the health and stability of the ecosystem; 3. Enhance the visual design and aesthetic experience in the Reserve; and 4. Maintain and ensure public access to the Reserve. Actions include removing dead and dying trees and understory, trimming or removing trees for defensible space between buildings and vegetation, and implementing restoration in areas including planting blue gum eucalyptus, other eucalyptus, other eucalyptus, and native species. No herbicides would be used in the program.
