Document Description
The project consists of a long-term (20 year), programmatic drainage maintenance plan for 70+ sites primarily within public rights of way. Eleven of the sites are located in the city's CDP jurisdiction. In addition to the city's CDP, the project requires permits from the ACOE, DFW and the coastal commission. Some sites consist of manmade stormwater conveyance ditches that are vegetated with herbaceous species. In some areas, drainage maintenance sites are part of natural creek watercourses. Approximately 57% of the drainage sites are either considered creeks (45%) and/or wetlands (57%) and require discretionary permits. While some drainage sites are surrounded by riparian tree and shrub species, removal of established trees and shrubs will be minimized to the extent practicable and is not required in most cases. Less than five drainage sites require tree removal.
