Document Description
The Project includes upgrading the WWTP with the construction of an extended aeration activated sludge system in the old polishing pond. This new treatment process will produce effluent that meets all applicable water quality standards and is suitable for tertiary treatment and recycling. The eastern portion of the pond will be converted to an aeration basin and the western portion will contain secondary clarifiers for sludge removal and recycling. Treated effluent will be discharged to the existing percolation ponds and waste sludge will be stored in the existing sludge drying bed. Other Project activities include modifying the existing headworks, improving the existing operations building, modifying the piping between the headworks and the old polishing pond, modifying the percolation pond piping as needed, and reshaping, excavating, and combining several percolation ponds. All Project related activities will take place inside the fenced WWTP. No construction activity will occur outside of the fenced area.
