Central Unified School District proposes to construct and operate W. Shields Ave. Elementary School, a K-6th grade school within the incorporated limits of the city of Fresno, CA. The project would consist of 54,974 sf of building space on a 10-acre site, and accommodate up to 750 students. Proposed school facilities would include a two story administrative and classroom building, a one-story cafeteria/multi-purpose room and amphitheater, an 83-stall parking area with solar paneling, a student drop-off area, and outdoor play areas. The district plans to make the play areas available to the public as recreational green spaces. A general plan amendment and zoning district chance will be necessary. Schools within 2 miles inc: Central Learning Adult, Central HS, John Steinbeck ES, and Hanh Phan Tilley ES.
