- The proposed project consists of the construction, operation and maintenance of flood control bank and invert stabilization improvements and an access road within an approximately 0.6-mile segment of Desert Knolls Wash, from an existing concrete trapezoidal channel in Desert Knolls Wash (Phase II) to the confluence of the wash with the Mojave River. The bank and invert stabilization improvements include grading of wash slopes to 2:1, placement of side slope protection, and installation of a series of grade stabilization structures constructed across the invert to prevent erosion during large storm events. The intent of the proposed project is provide flood control protection to adjacent existing residential and educational development.
