Document Description
The project will manage the vegetation to reduce the wild fire hazard on the undeveloped portions of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's Butte Fire Center property and adjacent Paradise Irrigation District Property in Magalia, CA. Additionally, the project will allow employees to practice wildland firefighting techniques such as hand line construction and firing operations. Existing trails will be subject to minor maintenance work to repair deteriorating support structures and erosion points. Cut material shall be removed by chipping, hand piling and burning, or broadcast burning. Trees showing obvious signs of wildlife use will be retained and protected from cutting and burning operations. All broadcast burning will be done in conjunction with an approved burn plan. No heavy equipment will be used.
