San Jose Water Company is proposing the replacement of the existing Pike water storage tank. The existing 179,000 gallon tank will be replaced with a new welded steel tank with a storage capacity of 287,700 gallons. In addition, the project includes installation of a permanent pad for three temporary tanks and repaving the site to improve access around the tank for routine operations and maintenance. The existing tank is 40 feet in diameter and 20 feet in height. The new tank will be 44 feet in diameter and 33 feet in height. The project would increase tank capacity to meet existing fire code and service.
