Document Description
The proposed project before the Planning Commission would amend the CUP to provide the following elements: 1. Pole lights would be installed to light the six existing courts on Judge Field. The proposed lighting would include eight (8) fixtures per court. The fixtures would be mounted horizontally directional to the court surface and shielded on 22-foot high poles. Some of the poles would hold 2 to 4 fixtures that would illuminate adjacent courts; there would be a maximum total of 38 poles. Use of the lighting would be limited-to the days between and including September 8th and. April 14th. The lights would turn on 30 minutes before full sunset (which varies from day to day). During those permitted times when the lights are in use, classes and activities on the courts would cease at 7:30 p.m. and the lights would stay on only until 7:45 p.m., allowing 15 minutes for cleanup. Lights would not be used in the morning hours. 2. A one-story structure will be constructed adjacent to the north side of the existing lower tennis courts that will include two bathrooms (a total of 414 square feet) and 207 square feet of storage for TPC owned tennis related equipment. 3. North of this structure will be a landscaped entry to a 750 square foot covered entrance (solid roof with 4 skylights) to the facility. The entryway will include folding gates and a card reader. 4. Adjacent to and east of the proposed entry area will be a 1,340 square foot screened outdoor area open to the sky and screened from public view by a wall and doors. It will be coordinated with the tennis facility program to accommodate maintenance and storage structures on the site (five Tuff Sheds). This facility will be screened but not covered.
