The San Bernardino County Real Estate Services Department is proposing a new 10,941 sf Crisis Stabilization Unit Facility Project, located within the unincorporated area of the city of Fontana, San Bernardino County, CA. The project site consists of five parcels, totaling approximately 2.5 acres, located at 14677 Merrill Ave, Fontana, CA 92335. Specifically, the project site is located southeast corner of the intersection of the San Bernardino Avenue and Carob Avenue.
The purpose of the proposed project is to expand access to mental health services within the West Valley region of the county through the construction and operation of a CSU facility providing voluntary crisis intervention services to adult patients living in the local community. Services would include mental health assessments, treatment plan development, crisis intervention, medication support services, and individual and group therapy. The facility would be open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and provide a type of care that is a diversion from more expensive acute in patient care for West Valley residents in crisis. The proposed project would have 16 adult beds. The facility would be built in a residential architecture style and fully landscaped to blend with the existing residential area.
