Document Description
The California Department of General Services is proposing to renovate all the restrooms and the locker rooms in the Junipero Serra building to comply with for ADA and 2013 CBC. Work will remove and reinstall water closets, toilet partitions, accessible showers and their associated components, grab bars toilet paper dispensers, soap dispensers, paper towel fixtures, faucets, door closures, outlets, floor drains, and exhaust grills. In addition, the majority of the flooring in the restrooms and locker rooms will also be replaced and/or modified to achieve ADA compliance. As required, any walls will be repaired, patched, and paired to match existing colors.

This exemption allows for the restoration or rehabilitation not deteriorated or damaged structures, facilities, or mechanical equipment to meet current standards of public health and safety, that involve negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency's determination. All work will be in areas that were renovated in 1998. As the proposed project is being implemented to meet current standards of public health and safety ,consisting of only minor interior alterations and no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of this determination, the above-noted exemption applies to this project.
