The project involves approval of a removal action workplan by the Department of Toxic Substances Control pursuant to authority granted under California Health & Safety Code, Sections 25323.1 and 25356.1. The purpose of the project is to prevent ingestion or direct contact with and inhalation of wastes by school staff, students, and construction workers, as well as the general public; and limit the potential for exposure to the community from wastes and the associated contaminants of concerns and contaminants of potential concern from fugitive dust created during potential future construction activities.
