Document Description
The Project involves the decommissioning and removal of the Project dams (J.C. Boyle, Copco No. 1, Copco No. 2, and Iron Gate) and associated facilities by the Klamath River Renewal Cooperation (KRRC). The Project's purpose is to create a free-flowing Klamath River and provide for volitional fish passage in the Klamath River where the dams are currently located. The Project includes improving certain roads and bridges, habitat restoration of the former reservoirs and other land, replacing a water supply pipeline used by the City of Yreka, and reopening a fish hatchery; The State Water Resources Control Board is the lead agency for the project. As a responsible agency, DWR has approval authority over one document (co-licensee agreement) that furthers KRRC's implementation of the Project.
