Document Description
The proposed project includes construction of a new multi-use gym at the existing Brittan Elementary School in the community of Sutter. The proposed building is approximately 13,792 sf and includes classrooms and a gym with pull out bleachers for seating for up to 219 spectators. The proposed facility would not significantly change the existing operations of the school, which would continue to operate under the current schedule. The gym would supplement the school's physical education program with new locker facilities and an indoor multiuse basketball and volleyball court. Although no joint-set programs are proposed for the gym, the facility would be available for community use through the Civic Center Act. Additionally, seven portable classrooms totaling 6,720 sf will also be added to the school grounds.
