Present Land Use
0.75 acre of land adjacent to the existing El Dorado county Placerville Jail. One half of the site is graveled and the other half contains ruderal grasses. With the exception of an existing chain-link security fence bisecting the site, the site does not contain any permanent structures. The project is designed as and zoned for public facilities and city of Placerville general plan.
Document Description
The county jail expansion consists of an expansion to the existing El Dorado County jail facility. The expansion would include a 25,000 sf max two story structures attached to the existing facility, as well as an emergency generator. In addition, the proposed project may include paving of an existing on site gravel road totaling approximately 15,000 sf. The county seeks to finance the proposed project through SB 844, which authorizes the Board of State and community corrections and certain participating counties to acquire, design, and construct adult local criminal justice facilities.
