Document Description
The city of Ventura proposes to renovate portions of the Westpark Community Center, located at 450 W. Harrison Ave in the city of Ventura to include the followship major components: 1) installation of two synthetic or natural turf soccer fields; 2) removal of the restroom facility to be replaced by a new equipment storage building; 3) upgraded sports field lighting; and 4) construction of a class I bike path connecting Westpark to the Ventura River Trail. The objective of the proposed renovations is to provide a safer and more functional recreational play area for the Westside community. The city has determined the restroom structure to contain asbestos and lead and plans to mitigate these concerns through the use of contracted specialists prior to demolition. Construction would occur over 8-12 months.
