The purpose of the project is to replace the existing steel staircase at Point Dume State Beach, which is deteriorated and functionally substandard, with a new replacement staircase. The new staircase will be located downcoast to address issues of bluff erosion and vegetation trampling as a result of off trail visitor use. Project elements include staging areas, construction of the replacement staircase, removal of the existing staircase, access trial, a haul path along the beach, and revegetation of impacted areas with native species.
