The proposed project consists of an amendment to the Historic Murrieta Specific Plan. The land use designations within the study area would be reconfigured to the following designations: mixed use; multi family; public/civic/institutional; rural residential; single family-1; and single family-2. This would result in the potential addition of 1,151 dwelling units within the study area, and an estimated 1.229 million additional sf of non-residential uses. A corresponding amendmnt to the general plan is proposed as a result of the changes to the land designations within the specific plan.
