The project modernizes the 53 year old Mohr building, used for Allied Health and Physical Sciences, at Sacramento City College. The new facility, located on the same site, will continue to be used for instruction in Allied Health and Physical Sciences, and will serve the same capacity of students/professors. The new facility will provide a more earthquake resistant structure, as well as adequate ADA access compliance, HVAC, power and lighting systems. The modernization replaces the single-story building with a two-story building; the replacement building will have a smaller ground plane footprint.
The Mohr modernization project consists of an addition which includes a second-story. The addition will not increase the student capacity more than 25%. This is therefore in accordance with Class 14 (CCR 15314 - Minor Addition to Schools) Exemption.
