Document Description
Project consist of trenching 2,000 lineal feet by up to 48 inches wide, within a 500 foot by 300 foot area within the Nevada County airport, for repair and replacement of underground plumbing and utilities. Asphalt or concrete will be saw cut and removed to allow excavation with a backhoe. Excavation may occur up to 48 inches deep. All material removed will be placed and treated on site of the airport and contained in a manner that prevents any erosion leaving the immediate placement site. Underground assets will be placed, soil or gravel backfilled, and material compacted. Concrete, asphalt or grass will be re-established on the sites that were removed to bring site to original visual appeal. The entire airbase will be re-sealed and re-painted including parking areas for vehicles and aircraft. All sidewalks, drainage ways and driveways will be repaired with the best available material. Site maintenance, including pipe repair, surface sealant repairs, painting and improvements may require additional cutting, trenching, and patching for repair and replacement within the project boundary. Equipment that will be needed to perform this work will include a backhoe, pavement saw, jack hammer, concrete delivery trucks and additional construction personnel vehicles. Project work will take place between the months of January and June and involve approx. 5 weeks of on the ground activity.
