Document Description
The project is limited to four encroachments. Three proposed encroachments are to upgrade failing and undersized stream crossing culverts. Work for these encroachments will include excavation, removal of the failing culverts, replacement with new properly sized culverts, backfilling and compaction of fill , and rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion. One crossing of the three encroachments = described above is to upgrade a failing and undersized ditch relief culvert (DRC) that has formed an erosion gully that is hydrologically connected to a nearby stream. In addition to the work described above, work at DRC-3 will also involve backfilling the eroded gully with compacted fill, placement of topsoil over the fill area, seeding with native grass, and overlaying exposed area with weed-free straw mulch for erosion control. The final encroachment is to upgrade a low water crossing without any crossing facility to a rock armored crossing. Work for this encroachment will include excavation, formation of a road dip, construction of an armored road chute/outfall, and rocking the approaches to the crossing.3
