Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-MEN-07811-R1C, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to William Edwards. The project is limited to one encroachment (Table 1). The encroachment is for maintenance and continued operation of an existing on-stream pond and associated dam located on an unnamed tributary to the Russian River. The dam impounds stream flow, however water is not diverted from the pond for consumptive use. Permittee states water is impounded for aesthetic use and wildlife habitat. The proposed work includes regular maintenance of the 24-inch diameter spillway culvert to keep it clear of obstructions, and maintenance of the pond inlet to prevent water being diverted out of or around the pond. This Agreement does not authorize diversion of water from the pond for consumptive use, nor does it retroactively permit the creation of the dam or the on-stream pond.
