Document Description
The project is limited to six (6) encroachments. Encroachment 1 is for water diversion from Meadow Spring, tributary to Rattlesnake Creek. Water is diverted for domestic use and fire protection for three residences and one cabin. Work for the water diversion will include use and maintenance of the water diversion infrastructure, and work required to bring the diversion into compliance with the Agreement. Encroachment 2 is for maintenance of an existing on-stream pond (identified as Pond 2) fed by a Class III stream, percolating groundwater, and sheet flow. The pond is used for recreational, wildlife and emergency fire purposes. Water is not diverted for consumptive use. The four (4) other proposed encroachments (C1, C2, C4 and C5) are to maintain, repair or decommission existing stream crossings. Work for these encroachments will include (as appropriate): excavation, removal of existing culvert and/or fill, rock armoring and/or application of appropriate erosion control measures as necessary to minimize erosion, and work on the adjacent road. The notification also disclosed an additional pond (identified as Pond 1) which was described as rainfall catchment. The notification states Pond 1 is not fed or drained by any watercourses, and that an oversized armored spillway will be installed. One additional stream crossing (C3) was described as rocky ford on a short section of abandoned road. No work is proposed at this site.
