- Document Description
- The project is limited to two encroachments (Table 1). One encroachment is to remove a failing and undersized stream crossing that is no longer in use. Work for this encroachment will include excavation, removal of the failing crossing, recontouring the crossing, and revegetating the slopes of the disturbed channel with native vegetation. The other proposed encroachment is to remove a dam on an in-stream pond that is leaky and does not hold water past late summer. Work for this encroachment will include excavation of the dam fill , removal of the pond outlet culvert, recontouring the impoundment areas, rock armoring as necessary to minimize erosion, and revegetating the slopes of the disturbed channel with native vegetation. The material in the dam originated from the area that became the impoundment. Therefore, all the dam material will be used to return the slopes to original grades and no spoils will be hauled off site. The channel through the former impoundment will be lined with 17 cubic yards of 0.5-1 .0 ft rock. After the area is recontoured, it will be covered in jute netting, mulched, and seeded with native grasses.
