- The project involves the use of a remnant parcel of land from the expansion of the 405 freeway for the purposes of an official police garage for LAPD use. The subject site is owned by Caltrans and will be leased by the applicant. The project consists of paved area with the capacity to store 170 vehicles and three temporary structures that will house a 1,440 sf office space; a 160 sf auto storage area, and a 320 sf auto storage area. The project will provide an additional seven customer parking spaces. The project will have seven-foot auto storage area. The project will provide an additional seven customer parking spaces. The project will have seven-foot high solid fencing to screen the tow yard from adjacent uses. There is an existing eight-foot high windscreen separating the property and I-405 freeway. The southernmost portion of the project area is subleased as public parking for the surrounding neighborhood.
