Document Description
The Port of Long Beach Deep Draft Navigation Feasibility Study and Channel Deepening Project will evaluate dredging to deepen several channels, basins, and standby areas within the Port to improve waterborne transportation efficiencies and navigational safety for current and future container and liquid bulk vessel operations. Project areas include the approach channel extending seaward from the Queens Gate opening of the Long Beach Breakwater; the approach channel to Pier J, the Pier J Breakwaters and berths J266-J270; and the Pier T/West Basin and berth T140. A new electrical substation will be constructed landside on Pier J to provide electricity to the dredge equipment.
